The BMW 3-Series has undeniably been the success number of BMW. The 3-Series accounts for over 30% of the total sales figures when we only look at car sales. The BMW 3-Series has been on the market since 1975 and has been sold in different versions and generations. The models of today hardly resemble their grandparents from the 1970s. Regardless of which edition of the 3-Series you have, you can always find a cheap windscreen with us, including fitting by an expert.
Before we look at the price of a new windscreen for the BMW 3-Series, it is time to put this special model in the limelight. How did this model become such a huge success and is it still in production?
In 1975, the first BMW 3 rolled out of the factory. It was the E21 model that would succeed the BMW 02-Series. At first, this new model was only available as a two-door sedan with four-cylinder engines, but new engine types were soon added, as was a convertible version.
The second generation (from 1982, also known as the E30) was the first generation in which the BMW 3-Series was equipped with a diesel engine and four-wheel drive. Some 8 years later came the E36, the third generation of the BMW 3-Series. The new generation was immediately marketed as a sedan, coupé, convertible, estate and hatchback, giving the consumer a choice. The approach was successful, and BMW decided to do the same in 1997 with the introduction of the fourth generation. This was also equipped with satellite navigation, windscreen wipers with rain sensors, LED rear lights and numerous other (at the time) modern gadgets.
As you've come to expect from BMW, the 3-Series is also equipped with a top-of-the-range model, which has been given the indicator 'M'. The BMW M3 Series has been sold exclusively as a sedan, coupé and convertible, with more and more upgrades over the years.
The latest BMW M3 Competition is one of the most controversial cars ever made. The model has been tested by numerous experts, and their opinions differed greatly. Why? Because 510 PS and 650 Nm is almost at odds with the idea of the BMW 3-Series itself. And that grille...
Do you want to know more about the BMW M3 Competition or have you never seen this model before and do you have 10 minutes? Then the film below is certainly not a punishment. Be warned; there is a risk you will want to call a nearby BMW dealer after watching it.
You could say so. At the time of writing, almost a quarter of a million copies have been sold in the Netherlands, with this model topping the rankings for BMW. The top position is unchallenged; in second place is the BMW 5-Series with 'only' 115,000 models sold. The BMW 3-Series was also a hit on the European stage; it represents 30% of all BMW cars sold and is therefore the most popular BMW ever.
Windscreen damage is annoying, but in far from all cases the windscreen needs to be replaced or repaired. Windscreen damage outside the driver's field of vision is almost never a reason to panic. Is the glass damage inside your field of vision and is it a small chip with a diameter of at least 20 millimetres or is it a branched crack? Then it is necessary to replace the windscreen. The car will not pass the MOT test with this kind of windscreen damage.
A new BMW 3-Series windscreen is available for as little as € 249. This is a suitable windscreen for the sedan and touring/station models built in 1991 to 1998. For € 299 you can get a new windscreen suitable for many models.
When you choose the windscreen for your own BMW 3-Series model, you can then choose whether to order with or without delivery and whether you want the windscreen to be fitted by a specialist. The price shown changes with each choice you make, so you always know exactly what price you can expect.
New windscreens at your BMW dealer are significantly more expensive than the prices we have shown above. There is a reason for this. The windscreens sold by your BMW dealer carry a brand logo, which means they may only be sold by your dealer. You pay for the exclusive character, because the logo itself does nothing for the automotive glass.
In fact, our aftermarket windscreens are identical to your BMW dealer's windscreens, the only difference being that ours have no brand logo. This makes the price much lower, which means that you can always count on us to give you the best value for money.
If you have a lot of experience in windscreen replacement or if you have a garage, you can choose to order the new windscreen for your BMW 3-Series from us without installation. If you don't have any experience, we strongly advise you to opt for delivery including installation.
Our certified fitting partners replace car windows on location throughout the Netherlands and Belgium, so that you can be sure that the windscreen has been fitted correctly and that you have no work at all. It is often possible to replace the windscreen yourself if it is a side window.
