The Citroën Berlingo is known as a workhorse, but you probably also already know that it is by no means a unique model (which is no surprise at PSA-Group), and thus its sales success has always remained somewhat moderate. Do you have a Citroën Berlingo whose windscreen needs replacing? Then you can order a new windscreen from us for less than €300. Before we explain how our low prices for car windows are possible without compromising on quality, let's take a look at the Berlingo from Citroën.
The Citroën Berlingo is one of those models that is part of batch production, with numerous different versions then marketed by the manufacturers. In the case of the Citroën Berlingo, this means that all the models below have direct or indirect links to it.
On this page, we stay as close as possible to the Citroën Berlingo itself, to give you a clear picture of this model and the electric models made from the Berlingo.
When the Citroën Berlingo was shown at the 1996 Paris Motor Show, there were also three concept models on display, including the forerunner of the Citroën C3, and the Grand Large, which would later become the Citroën Berlingo Multispace.
The Berlingo was available as a 5-door passenger van or a van with sliding doors. The Berlingo was mainly used as a company car, but from an early stage people started working on the model themselves, for example to turn it into a camping van. This applies to a greater extent to second-generation models, mainly because it is more spacious than the first generation.
In 2002, the Citroën Berlingo got a new instrument panel (borrowed from the Peugeot 206), an updated interior and modified front end. Another facelift followed in 2004, but here mainly the lights and grille were changed without major other modifications.
In 2008 came the second generation, where the Berlingo would be put on the European market for the Partner. This time it opted for the PSA PF2 platform (on which the Citroën C4 is also based), making the second generation slightly larger and, more importantly, much more expensive than its predecessor.
In 2018, we see a number of changes. PSA acquired Opel in 2017 and worked intensely with Toyota at the time of the third generation, which resulted in significantly more sister models (batch models) being launched for the third generation of the Berlingo. Since Stellantis (Fiat-Chrysler together with the PSA Group) decided four years later to remove internal combustion engine vans from the range for EU countries (as well as Norway and Britain), only the electric versions remained at dealers.
Those electric versions, incidentally, were not new. Back in 2010, Peugeot and Citroën released electric models called Peugeot Partner Origin Electric and the Citroën Berlingo First Electrique. These were made by Venturi. Citroën had previously launched a Citroën Berlingo Electrique in 1998 with a nickel-cadmium battery, but this was a very limited edition. Hence the name of the 2010 model, which was given the addition ‘First’.
In 2021 came the ë-Berlingo Van which would be followed a few days later by models from its partners.
At the same time, Citroën has done everything it can to make this a strong model, with the Citroën Berlingo Multispace in particular standing out. In the video below, you can see what Richard Hammond thinks of this model (especially wait until he has finished slagging off the looks, after all, everyone can see that this is not the prettiest model).
The windscreen of your Citroën Berlingo should be replaced when there is glass damage in the driver's field of vision and this is a branched crack or a chip with a diameter of 20 millimetres or more. In all other cases, you can choose to continue driving with the glass damage in your windscreen. Above all, however, check for yourself whether the windscreen damage is annoying and obstructs your view of the road. Especially in the Berlingo, which is often used daily as a workhorse (and therefore calling card) for businesses, which means that an intact, clean windscreen simply looks much better. In many cases, it can be attractive to have the windscreen replaced of the Citroën Berlingo, even if your car would pass the MOT with the windscreen damage.
You already have a new Citroën Berlingo windscreen for €299. This includes VAT, but does not include the windscreen moulding (which you can order along for €30). Also not included in this price are the costs for fitting and/or delivery, but you can immediately see what the total price will be when you specify what you want or need.
Although our windscreens for the Berlingo are considerably cheaper than the original windscreens, the quality is identical. The big difference lies in a particularly small brand logo that does nothing for the windscreen except ensure a more exclusive character that is ultimately paid for by you. So if you want the best value for money, you will always end up with our after market windscreens, which are often even cheaper than second-hand windscreens for the Citroën Berlingo.
