Next to the great sales success of the Citroën C1 and C3 is the Citroën C2, a model that did not become a great success and received much less attention than the other two models. In the Netherlands, the C2 was nevertheless sold some 11,500 times, which is very decent for a model that was in production for only a few years. If you have a Citroën C2 and need a windscreen replacement, you have come to the right place. We have the best new car windows at the lowest prices, including the option to arrange instant windscreen replacement on-site. Before we delve further into what we offer, let's look together at the model that lagged behind its siblings.
The Citroën C2 entered the market in August 2003 and replaced the Citroën Saxo and was placed next to the Citroën C3, which was larger. The idea was to market the C2 to younger drivers who did not need a full family car (the C3). The Citroën C2 was immediately marketed in a number of versions, including the stripped-down LX version, the L version with basic features such as CD player and power windows. The SX was considerably more luxurious with air conditioning, among other features. The Citroën C2 Furio, VTS and VTR became the sportier versions of the C2.
In 2006, the C2 received a number of modifications, but none of these were very drastic. They were mainly cosmetic changes for the interior and a new stereo in the models. A year later, the model got a facelift, with the C2 getting a larger front bumper and more chrome incorporated into the model for the exterior.
The Citroën C2 was fitted with two new technologies, namely Stop & Start and SensoDrive. Stop & Start is of course very well known by now, with the engines turning off when the car is stationary, and starting again as soon as it needs to be driven. SensoDrive was a new technology from Citroën for automated manual shifting (5-speed), a manual gearbox equipped with electronic components that make the clutch pedal unnecessary.
Interestingly, the Citroën C2 never received the attention that the Citroën C1 and C3 did, although this may well have to do with its target market. The C1, the very compact city car, and the C3, the spacious, economical family car, were placed in a much wider market than the C2, which hung in between as ‘a model for younger consumers’.
A total of 700,000 were made, although this includes Chinese C2s, which were really just disguised Peugeot 206 models. While those are not many copies, it is important to remember that this model was only in production for 6 years and that Citroën paid much more attention to marketing for the C1 and C3.
There are not particularly many advertisements to be found for the Citroën C2. We have managed to find the strangest ones for you, leaving us wondering what exactly is the message the French are trying to get out. The Citroën C2 VTR, a car for people who... easily lose their way?
The rules around windscreen damage and rejection at the MOT are the same for all cars. This means that the windscreen of your Citroën C2 has to be replaced when the window damage is in the driver's field of vision and this is a chip with a diameter of 2 centimetres or more, or when it is a branched crack. Indeed, in these cases, your C2 will not pass the inspection because this form and extent of windscreen damage causes too much risk.
In all other cases, you may continue driving with the damaged windscreen, but mainly check for yourself whether the damage in the windscreen is a nuisance or poses a risk. After all, even when windscreen replacement is not compulsory, you can choose to replace the Citroën C2 windscreen (or have it replaced).
You already have a new windscreen for your Citroën C2 for €349 when you choose our replacement windscreens. On top of that there is the cost for the mouldings and clips, but you can easily order these on the same page. Our after market windscreens for the Citroën C2 are significantly cheaper than the automotive glass at your branded dealer, while the quality is identical.
