The Citroën C3 Picasso is one of those special models that has faced a lot of criticism and problems, while at the same time receiving numerous awards. Although this model has not become a resounding success, more than 5,000 units have been sold in the Netherlands, and we cannot speak of a flop internationally either. Do you have a Citroën C3 Picasso and do you need to replace the windscreen? Then you will find quality new windscreens at amazingly low prices. Before we delve further into this, let's take a look at this striking model from France.
The Citroën C3 Picasso entered the market in 2008 as a mini MPV and is based on the Citroën C3, as its name suggests. It is part of a large badge programme and sits alongside the Opel Meriva, the Ford Fusion, the Nissan Note and the Renault Modus. At the same time, it is the successor to the Citroën Xsara Picasso and the first models would actually arrive at dealerships in 2009.
The main appeal of the C3 Picasso was in the number of different versions, with the Exclusive being the most expensive, most luxurious variant in all markets. In addition, Citroën chose to go with the LX and SX versions for the C3 Picasso as well. Britain got another special edition to mark Citroën's 90th birthday, and the Blackcherry (based on the VTR+ with an HDi engine) also came to the UK.
The special editions above are not exclusive to the C3 Picasso. They also came to the Citroën Berlingo, the Citroën C4 Aircross, Citroën C1, Citroën C4 and other models.
After a facelift in 2012 that introduced a new navigation system and added LED lights, the curtain would fall on the Picasso. In 2017, the entire model line was replaced by the Citroën C3 Aircross. By the way, this model itself was not new, as the first generation of the Citroën C3 Aircross entered the market in Brazil in 2010.
There are few models that have been as much discredited as the C3 Picasso. In a negative sense because of its sparse, somewhat Spartan interior and weak petrol engines. But also positively because of the car's generous space inside and strong diesel engines.
The fact that 600 models had to be recalled due to misplaced fuel lines that could cause leaks was only the beginning of the real problems. Indeed, a year later, nearly 25,000 models in Britain had to go back to the factories because of problems with brakes that could be activated from the passenger seat. This was due to the fact that the cars had not been fully adapted from a left-side steering wheel to a right-side steering wheel.
At the same time, the C3 Picasso was nominated for the award for European Car of the Year in 2010, but would subsequently finish in last place. How odd, given that the same model did win quite a few awards in 2010, including Scottish MPV of the Year, Best Supermini MPV of the Year and Best MPV (Top Gear Magazine).
The clip below is one of the commercials Citroën aired in France. For a change, we say nothing else about it and leave the judgement entirely to you.
Windscreen damage is annoying and unsightly, but in far from all cases your car's windscreen needs to be replaced. The Citroën C3 Picasso windscreen should be replaced when the glass damage is in the driver's field of vision and involves a chip at least 20 millimetres in diameter or a branched crack. This is because in these cases, the C3 Picasso (like all other cars) will no longer pass the MOT. The windscreen damage poses too many risks and is too distracting while driving, which concretely means that we recommend that you have the windscreen replaced as soon as possible.
Is the windscreen damage less extensive, is it not in the driver's field of vision and/or does the damage in the windscreen cause little or no distraction while driving? Then you can continue driving as normal with the damage in your windscreen.
When you choose our replacement windscreens, you can have a new Citroën C3 Picasso windscreen for as little as €399. That's considerably less than you would pay at your Citroën dealer, and actually that's strange. After all, the quality of the automotive glass is identical. Usually the windows are even made in the same place. The difference in price lies in a brand logo that makes the original windscreens for the Citroën C3 Picasso exclusive and that drives up the price considerably. We do not participate in this. With us, you will find after market car windows at competitive prices, without having to compromise on quality.
Not sure if you can replace the windscreen of your Citroën C3 Picasso yourself? If so, this is a job you definitely do not want or cannot start. Windscreen replacement is expert work, requiring precise work to avoid damage to the car, the window and yourself. To make things easier for you, we cooperate with fitting partners who replace car windows on-site. You have nothing to worry about and can be back on the road in your C3 Picasso in no time with an intact, clean windscreen.
Do you know someone who is an expert in glass replacement and would like to order the windscreen(s) excluding fitting? That is, of course, also possible. You can even choose to collect your order (only possible by appointment). Since the website adjusts the price on the page immediately for each choice you make, you always know what the options and prices are.
