The Citroën C8 is not an exciting, thrilling model. It cannot even be called a unique MPV, as it is part of one of the mass projects in the car industry in which numerous car manufacturers have collectively released one model with numerous different names. Nevertheless, the C8 has been sold more than 2,500 times in the Netherlands. Do you own one of these and need to replace the windscreen? The big project the C8 is part of is the Eurovans project. The name Eurovans was not coined by the makers themselves, but by automotive journalism. It has been a collaboration between Citroën, Peugeot. Fiat and Lancia and the aim was to make a series of large MPVs. The result was as follows:
It is not until the second generation that we see the Citroën C8 emerge for the first time, as well as the Lancia Phedra and the Peugeot 807.
So we jump straight to 2002, the year in which the second generation of the model line-up entered the market, which was larger than its predecessor. What was particularly noticeable was that the second generation was considerably more modern, partly because of the dashboard that had been updated to the standards of the time. Only the Peugeot and Citroën received a facelift in 2008 and in 2012, but there were not many major changes and efforts to make the model more popular did not succeed.
The fact that the target group for the C8 was not that big and that Citroën itself did not have that much faith in the model is clear from the number of commercials that can still be found for the model. For successful, even very old, models, numerous advertisements can always be found in various languages. This is not the case for the C8, and the commercials that can be found do not encourage us to buy this model. Windscreen damage is annoying and can look very unsightly, but in far from all cases, car windscreen damage also means that your Citroën C8's windscreen actually needs to be replaced. Indeed, there are only a few cases where the windscreen needs replacing. Is the windscreen damage in the driver's field of vision and is it a chip with a diameter of at least 20 millimetres or is it a branched crack? Then the Citroën C8 windscreen needs to be replaced, as this will prevent the car from passing the next MOT.
Is the size limited or is the chip or crack in a different place? Then it is up to you whether you want to replace the windscreen (or have it replaced). If the damage is inconvenient, you can always opt to have the windscreen replaced so you can hit the road with an intact, clean windscreen.

Replacing a car side window yourself is still manageable with a bit of technical knowledge and the right materials (plus probably a manual). Replacing the windscreen of your Citroën C8 yourself is a different story, as these car windows are much larger and the risk of damaging the car or the new windscreen is therefore also higher.
