Citroën is a versatile car brand and owes this reputation in part to the Citroën DS3, which buyers could put together themselves and which ensured a variety of models drove away from dealerships. These were quite a few, by the way, as this small model became a huge success for the French. Do you have a Citroën DS3 and need to replace the windscreen? Then you can find new windscreens with us that are significantly cheaper than the ones your brand dealer offers.
Before we show you just how cheap our windscreens are, we will first make room for the model that can safely be put in the spotlight.
Initially, the DS3 was not intended to be a standalone model at all. In fact, it was to be a 3-door version of the Citroën C3, and in 2007 the design was named Citroën C3 Coupé. In February 2009, however, it was revealed that it would become a standalone model when the model was shown at the car show in Switzerland. This was also when the DS line was first mentioned. Then, in August the same year, the production model was shown to the public, a luxury mini where customers were allowed to choose the colours themselves. Here, different colours could be chosen for the body, roof and stickers. The new colour added to the range in 2011 made it possible to choose from as many as 10 different colours.
After a minor facelift in 2014 in which the headlights of the more expensive versions became xenon LED lights and the engine range was refreshed, a major facelift came in 2016. The most notable change was the name change, as after this facelift the model would go through life as the DS3. Citroën disappeared completely, as DS Automobiles had now become an independent company. The equipment levels were also renamed (Chic, Elegance and Prestige).
Both the front and rear of the model were updated during the facelift and new PSA engines were added to the range, including the popular 1.2-litre PureTech 3-cylinders.
DS Automobiles would then team up with Givenchy (luxury fashion and perfume brand) to launch 500 special DS3 Givenchy models in 2016, and the same year also saw the launch of the DS Performance Line, a model that was especially more luxurious (contrasting colours for the roof, coloured stitching on the upholstery).
There are few models where the second generation breaks as roughly with its predecessor as was the case with the DS3. Some stylistic elements remained the same, but the second generation of the model would be a 5-door crossover SUV and the name was changed to DS3 Crossback, and would share the platform with the Peugeot 208 (the PSA Group's EMP1 platform). DS Automobiles also launched an all-electric variant of the model, the DS3 E-Tense.
In 2022, DS Automobiles decided to make things even more complicated by launching a facelift, changing the name from DS3 Crossback to DS3, but in marketing the facelift would be exclusively called New DS3. Crazy much did not change about the model by the way, a redesigned grille and two LED strips on the doors were the biggest changes.
A model not to be missed on this page is the DS3 Racing, which was launched in 2010 as a street version of the DS3 R3, a rally car. With a top speed of 235 kilometres per hour and custom, unique colours, this was a special model.
Are you a fan of special cars and beautiful landscapes, with unique roads and breathtaking bridges? Then the video below is perfect for you, as here the DS3 Racing is tested in a setting that people book holiday trips for.
For a luxury mini, the success of the Citroën DS3 has been great, especially when models without the Citroën badge are also included. In 2011, the best year for the DS3, nearly 80,000 models were sold.
Since you can only get the best view of the road with a clean and intact windscreen, there are strict rules regarding the condition of your car's windscreen. However, there are only two cases where you should not continue driving with windscreen damage. Is there a chip with a diameter of at least 20 millimetres or a branched crack in the car window and is the damage in the driver's field of vision? If so, your DS3 will no longer pass the MOT and your car's windscreen will have to be replaced.
In all other cases, the choice is yours. You are free to have the windscreen replaced so that your car is back in optimal condition, but you can also choose to continue driving with the damaged windscreen. If you continue to drive, do keep an eye on the extent of the damage. The window can crack further when the difference in temperature on either side of the window is large (for example, when you have the air conditioning on on a hot summer day).
If you opt for our replacement automotive glass, you will already have a new Citroën DS3 windscreen from €399 (including VAT). The quality is identical to the automotive glass at your branded dealer, but the price is considerably lower. So much lower that our new windscreens are often still cheaper than second-hand car windows. The reason for the price difference is a brand logo in the original Citroën windscreens. This brand logo does nothing for the automotive glass itself, but does create an exclusive character that is then at your expense.
Since our car windows are made in the same place and manner as the original car windows, but lacking the brand logo, you will therefore always find automotive glass with the best value for money with us. This applies not only to windscreens, but also to all side windows and rear windows.
We strongly advise our customers not to replace the windscreen themselves. If you are not experienced in replacing windscreens, you may choose to use our professional fitting partners for on-site windscreen replacement. That way, you can be sure that the new Citroën DS3 windscreen will be fitted correctly and that you will be able to get back on the streets safely in no time.
Are you a specialist yourself or do you know someone who can replace the windscreen of your Citroën DS3? Then you can also come to us for new car windows excluding fitting. Many garage owners even choose to collect their order from us to save even more on costs.
Does the windscreen of your Citroën DS3 need replacing or do you have your eye on a used car whose windscreen needs replacing? Then you have come to the right place for high-quality new windscreens at the lowest possible price. At the same time, you can count on optimum ordering convenience, because our specialists are ready to help you personally if you cannot find the right windscreen for your Citroën DS3 or if you have any questions about our products or working methods.
