The Citroën Xsara is one of those French models that was built up from other models, but at the same time could become a success because of its appeal (which lay mainly in its low base price and wide range of variants when introduced). If you have one of these Xsara's and need the windscreen replaced, you can succeed with us at a very reasonable price without compromising on quality. We will even arrange for the windscreen of your Xsara to be replaced at your home.
Before we delve further into what we can do for you, let's take a look at this model that became popular against the odds.
When introduced, the Xsara did not initially cause a stir in 1997, as it literally borrowed the parts of the Citroën ZX and added some things from the Peugeot 306, a model that had already been in production for four years. Both the platform and powertrains were borrowed, but that did not stop Citroën from immediately launching a number of different versions, such as the larger Break and a 3- and 5-door hatchback. The automotive journalists fairly quickly wrote off the models as boring, but then they were not what the carmaker had developed the model for.
On the contrary, Citroën wanted to market as solid and broad a model as possible in order to appeal to most of the market. This is also reflected in the long list of petrol and diesel engines that were made available for the Xsara, and the Citroën Xsara Picasso that would do much for the model's overall sales figures.
The 2000 facelift (2001 model year) for the Xsara was, surprisingly for Citroën, extensive. The model received a new grille, new headlights and taillights, a completely new bumper and a tailgate on which the logo would be much more present. The models were also some 80 kilograms heavier because the A-pillars were reinforced.
It should be added here, incidentally, that by no means all parts and modifications were new. Citroën would not have been Citroën if it did not borrow some parts from the shelves of the Citroën C5 to make things easier for itself.
But what can a car manufacturer do to sell a deliberately boring and solid model? Citroën thought it had found the answer in the form of ... Claudia Schiffer.
When you use a car daily or weekly, it automatically means that there is always a risk of windscreen damage. A splashing stone can be enough to damage the windscreen, but when should the windscreen actually be replaced? The windscreen of your Citroën Xsara should be replaced when there is windscreen damage in the driver's field of vision, but only when it is a chip with a diameter of at least 20 millimetres, or when it is a branched crack. This windscreen damage is dangerous because it is distracting while driving and because incoming light (from the sun or the headlights of oncoming vehicles) can be reflected in an unpredictable way. This can blind you while driving.
In all other cases, the choice is yours. You can continue driving with the damaged windscreen, but in all cases you are free to opt for windscreen replacement so that you can have optimal and unobstructed views of the road while driving.
When you choose our replacement car windows, you can have a new Citroën Xsara windscreen for as little as €299. This makes our windscreens much cheaper than original Citroën windscreens, while the quality is identical. Indeed, they are even made in the same place and yet there is a difference of hundreds of euros, making our new windscreens often even cheaper than second-hand car windows for this model.
The price difference is in a brand logo that does nothing for the glass, but does provide an exclusive character that you pay for. Unless you choose us and want automotive glass with the best value for money.
Replacing a car window yourself is not impossible, especially if you are technically inclined and it involves replacing a side window. If the windscreen of the Citroën Xsara needs to be replaced, it is a different story. In fact, you cannot replace a windscreen just like that, it is a big job with heavy car windows, where you do not want to damage yourself and the car. To unburden you, we work with professional fitting partners who replace windscreens on location throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. Wherever your Xsara is, our partners will ensure that you can be back on the road in no time with an intact, clean windscreen. While ordering your new windscreen, you can easily specify when the windscreen needs to be replaced and the page will immediately let you know what this will do to the total price.
Do you have a garage or workshop, or do you know someone who can replace the windscreen of your Xsara? Then you can also opt for a new cheap windscreen excluding fitting. Many garage owners even choose to save even more on costs by picking up their order from us. So you always fully decide what you want and what suits you best.
