The Fiat 500 has been a resounding success and million units have been driven away from dealerships worldwide. The Fiat 500 has also been launched in many different versions, with the Fiat 500C (or Fiat 500 Cabrio) being one of the most striking models. In fact, the Italians decided to give a new design to the convertible in order to make it significantly better, and that too has been a success. Do you have a convertible version of the Fiat 500 and does it have windscreen damage? If so, this page will tell you when the windscreen should be replaced and how you can order a Fiat 500C windscreen with the best value for money within a short time.
Before we tell you what we have to offer, we will of course take a look at this special model from Fiat.
The Fiat 500 hit the market back in 2007, but it would be more than two years before the convertible hit the car parks at dealerships. Fiat decided to make a ‘fixed-profile’ convertible called the Fiat 500C (often called Fiat 500 Cabrio), a convertible where the side panels are fully raised and pillars remain. This creates a less open character than other convertibles, but at the same time makes the model much more rigid and solid.
How this works and why this is such a sore point with convertible enthusiasts, we can best show you by showing you a video from Autoweek, in which the Fiat 500 Cabrio is test driven.
Fiat also decided to market a hybrid, but in doing so mostly proved how incredibly elastic the term ‘hybrid’ is. This is because the electric motor in this model is so small that it cannot power the 500C itself, it can only help with acceleration with which the model is considerably more economical. In fact, consumption is reduced to 1:25.6 by this electric motor. Whether this then actually deserves the stamp of ‘hybrid’, we will leave that aside for now.
Is there damage in the windscreen of your Fiat 500C or do you have your eye on a used car with a chip or crack? In that case, it is useful to know when the windscreen should be replaced. The rules are the same for all models. If the car has damage in the driver's field of vision and it involves a chip with a diameter of at least 20 millimetres or a branched crack, the windscreen of your Fiat 500 Cabrio must be replaced. Your car will then no longer pass the MOT as this damage poses risks while driving. Not only can windscreen damage be distracting, you may also be blinded by incoming light (such as the sun or headlights of oncoming traffic) that reflects unpredictably.
In all other cases, you may choose to continue driving with a damaged windscreen, although you are free to order a new windscreen if you prefer to participate in traffic with an intact, clean windscreen.
With us, you already have a new Fiat 500C windscreen for €399, including VAT (excluding any costs for fitting and/or delivery of the window). This means that our new windscreens are significantly cheaper than the original Fiat windscreens your dealer has ready for you. The reason for the price difference may be surprising: namely, it is the brand logo that is in the original automotive glass. This little logo does nothing for the window itself, but it does create an exclusive character that makes for a much higher price. So if you want a new Fiat 500 Cabrio windscreen with the best value for money, choose our replacement car windows for your car.
The difference in price is so great that in almost all cases, our new windscreens are cheaper than second-hand ones, and it remains to be seen what condition they are in.
There are plenty of repairs you can do to the car yourself to save money. Some technical ability and knowledge of the car can save you quite a bit of money, but this does not apply to replacing the windscreen of your Fiat 500C. By default, we recommend all our customers to leave the replacement of the windscreen to a professional, so you can be sure that it is fitted properly and you do not run an unnecessary risk of damaging yourself or the car. To make it as easy as possible for our customers, we cooperate with professional fitting partners in the Netherlands and Belgium who can replace all windscreens on-site.
Do you have your own garage or workshop or do you know someone who can replace the windscreen of your Fiat 500 Cabrio? Then you can also come to us for a new Fiat 500C windscreen without fitting. You can also choose to collect your order from us, to (like many other business customers) also save on delivery costs.
If you have a Fiat 500 Cabrio whose windscreen needs to be replaced, then you have come to the right place for the best windscreens at the lowest price, including the option to arrange instant windscreen replacement on-site. Not only can you count on optimum ordering convenience and numerous ways to settle your order, you can also contact us at any time for advice and answers to your questions about automotive glass.
