The Fiat Barchetta looks like an exciting, slightly naughty convertible from the Italian car brand and looks like a powerful sports car, which it simply isn't with 9 seconds to get from standstill to 100 kilometres per hour. The Barchetta was not particularly popular during its production period, but it still attracted attention on the second-hand market for a long time. If you have a Barchetta and need to replace the windscreen, you have come to the right place. With us, you can find cheap windscreens for the Fiat Barchetta without compromising on quality.
Before we tell you how cheap our automotive glass is, we will of course look together at the convertible that failed to conquer the world.
Although the Barchetta entered the market in 1995, development of the model began back in 1990 and the project was named Tipo B Spider. In 1995, the Fiat Barchetta, a roadster (sporty version of the convertible) went into production and the name literally means ‘small boat’. The model remained in production until 2005, although there was a small pause when the chassis builder went bankrupt (externally).
The Barchetta is fitted with a 129 hp engine with 164 Nm of torque and, weighing over 1,000 kilograms, the model does look very sporty, but it is not a car for the track. Fiat did make sure that there were immediately numerous versions with different features, such as red leather, a third brake light or aluminium rims.
The Barchetta got a facelift in 2003 in which the front bumper and rear were modified. The engine was also given an update and went up to 158 Nm of torque, slightly less than the model before the facelift. In June 2005, production ceased and the model was succeeded by the Fiat 124 Spider, a model that resembles the Fiat Barchetta in few ways.
Are you familiar with Fiat's clever advertisements and enjoy watching the funny, often imaginative commercials again? Then the clip below is nothing for you. The ad for the Fiat Barchetta may go on the nomination list for worst car ads ever as far as we are concerned.
The rules around windscreen damage are the same for Fiat's convertible as for other cars. This means that the Fiat Barchetta windscreen must be replaced when there is damage in the driver's field of vision involving a branched crack or a chip with a diameter of 20 millimetres or more. In these cases, the car will also no longer pass the MOT, as this damage is too distracting while driving and can also cause incoming light to reflect unpredictably, which can blind you.
When you choose our replacement car windows, you already have a new Fiat Barchetta windscreen for €399. This includes VAT, but does not include the cost of a new windscreen rubber moulding (€100 and can be ordered directly along). This makes our automotive glass significantly cheaper than the windscreens you can get from Fiat itself, and actually this is remarkable, because the quality of the car windows is identical.
The price difference is in the brand logo found in the original windscreens. That logo does nothing for the automotive glass itself, but the more exclusive nature does make for a higher price. So if you want the best value for money, opt for after market car windows, especially since our new car windows are often still cheaper than second-hand automotive glass.
Although it probably doesn't seem difficult to replace the windscreen of your Barchetta yourself, we still advise against getting started if you have little or no experience in replacing a windscreen. Windscreen replacement is a job that must be done accurately to avoid damage to the car and the new window, and in addition, correct fitting prevents problems after the windscreen replacement. That's why we work with professional fitting partners who replace car windows on-site, so you don't even have to drive to a garage or workshop with the damaged windscreen.
Are you a professional yourself, do you have a garage or workshop and/or do you know someone who can replace the windscreen of your Fiat Barchetta? Then you can also purchase the new Barchetta windscreens from us excluding fitting. Many garage owners also choose to collect their orders from us. If you would like to do the same, this is always possible (by appointment only).
Do you have a Fiat Barchetta whose windscreen needs to be replaced or are you looking at an occasion with a damaged windscreen? Then you have come to the right place for cheap car windows without compromising on quality. Of course, you can also count on optimum ordering convenience, numerous payment options and on-site windscreen replacement by professionals.
