Cheap windscreen replacement for your Fiat Sedici

The Fiat Sedici has not been in production for a particularly long time and production numbers are therefore quite low compared to other models from Italy. Nevertheless, the Sedici has become a bigger success than it seems and that is mainly due to a little brother of this model that did manage to conquer the market. Do you own a Fiat Sedici and do you need to replace your car's windscreen? Then you have come to the right place for cheap new windscreens without compromising on quality. Before we tell you what we have on offer for you, let's take a closer look at the Sedici.

2005: the first Fiat Sedici enters the market

The Fiat Sedici entered the market in 2005 as a compact crossover SUV and is part of a collaboration with Suzuki, where Fiat would focus mainly on the European market and Suzuki would target the other markets with the SX4 (and managed to do so with great success). The Sedici (Italian for 16, as this model is a 4x4) was made in Hungary for Fiat. The model became an instant success in Italy, partly due to the fact that the driver could choose four-wheel drive or still the usual two wheels. The great success in Italy was nice, but in Britain the model was prematurely withdrawn from dealers because there was no demand for the Sedici.

2009, the year of the facelift for the Fiat Sedici

In March 2009, the model received a major facelift in which the grille was modified and brought very much in line with that of the Fiat Bravo. The dashboard was also updated and a host of new engines were introduced for the model, which would bring the Sedici up to the Euro-5 standard.

The facelift was a big step for the model, but it didn't do much for sales figures. The Sedici sold less and less and would eventually be taken out of production in 2014. The last models drove away from dealerships in 2015.

The strongly disappointing success of the Fiat Sedici, or did it?

Normally, we compare the sales figures of models against other models from the same car brand or competitors to see whether a particular car has become a success. Fiat has made it much easier for us, however, as the carmaker stated before production that the target was 60,000 units per year. The Sedici did not achieve that in a single year. Indeed, the sales record was achieved in 2007, where just under 35,000 units were made.

However, there is a hefty side to this story. This is because the 60,000 represents not only the Fiat Sedici, but also the Suzuki SX4. The Sedici was supposed to account for only a third of the total production, and then we see that it succeeded relatively well.

What also stands out is that the Fiat Sedici was sold more than 2,000 times
in the Netherlands, which is strong for the model it is and the relatively short production period. As such, it compares well with the Fiat Argenta,
the Fiat Idea and the Fiat Ducato.

For the full picture around the success of the model and its sibling, the Suzuki SX4 became a sales hit, with both the base model and the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross selling well worldwide. Perhaps this also had something to do with the advertising department somewhere, as it is not entirely clear what Fiat had in mind when the script for the advert below was written out.

When should the Fiat Sedici windscreen be replaced?

There are strict rules regarding windscreen damage, as it can cause dangerous situations. Yet, it is not the case that the windscreen has to be replaced for every kind of damage. Indeed, in most cases, you can simply continue driving with the windscreen damage. However, if it is a chip with a diameter of at least 20 millimetres or a branched crack and it is in the driver's field of vision, the car will be rejected at the next MOT. The windscreen will then have to be replaced.

What does a new windscreen for the Fiat Sedici cost?

You already have a new windscreen for your Fiat Sedici for as little as €299. It won't surprise you that these windscreens are also suitable for Suzuki's counterpart, as the models are virtually unique. However, you may be surprised by the low price of our windscreens, especially if you are familiar with the prices charged by Fiat dealers. Our windscreens are much cheaper because they do not have a brand logo that gives the automotive glass an exclusive character. The quality is otherwise identical, meaning you can always come to us for automotive glass with the best value for money.

Can you replace the Fiat Sedici windscreen yourself?

People regularly ask us whether they can replace the windscreen themselves when they order automotive glass from us. When it comes to replacing a side window, it is quite possible that you can do it yourself if you are technically inclined. However, when it comes to replacing a windscreen, we advise all our customers not to get started themselves if they are not sure they can do the job themselves. Correct and careful fitting is important to prevent damage to the car and new windscreen, which is why we work with professional fitting partners. They replace car windows on-site, which means they always come to your location (in the Netherlands and Belgium).

Do you know someone who can replace the windscreen of your Fiat Sedici or are you a specialist yourself? Then you can simply indicate during the ordering process that you would like to purchase the new windscreen from us excluding fitting. You can even choose to collect your order from us (by appointment only).
