Cheap windscreen replacement for your Ford Focus C-Max

The Ford Focus C-Max has been a huge success for Ford, but it doesn't show in the sales figures. Indeed, if you were to look solely at the sales numbers without knowing the story behind the model, you would think the Focus C-Max would have flopped and been taken out of production within three years. Yet in the Netherlands, the model was sold almost 19,000 times. Do you own one of them and need to replace the windscreen of your Ford Focus C-Max? Then you can find new windscreens with the best value for money with us.

Before we look at the price of our cheap automotive glass, let's look at the story behind the Focus C-Max and what exactly Ford has done.

The Ford Focus C-Max: in production from 2003 to 2006

The actual Ford Focus C-Max entered the market in 2003 and disappeared from Ford's model lineup back in 2006. The Ford Focus C-Max was the first model to be made on the C1 platform (later also used for the Volvo S40, Volvo C70, Mazda CX-7, Ford Kuga and numerous other models) and was mainly characterised by its spacious boot space as well as room for five passengers.

The four-cylinder engines for the Ford Focus C-Max were taken straight from the Ford Focus, but the standard engine would be the 1.6-litre Duratec. Despite its great success, the curtain would fall on the model in 2006, but there was a notable reason for this. Indeed, during the facelift, the car's name was changed as Ford wanted to start a standalone Max line, following the release of the Ford S-Max in 2006. So the Focus C-Max didn't just 'disappear', it was renamed and would go through life as the Ford C-Max after the facelift.

The successor to the Ford Focus C-Max

So the successor to the Ford Focus C-Max is really just the Focus C-Max, but with a different name where 'Focus' was lost. That facelift, incidentally, had mostly design changes, so that the new C-Max would fit better with the new design line, which would be called Kinetic Design. The initial changes were so minor that the replacement windscreen for the Ford Focus C-Max is also suitable for the first-generation models after the facelift (up to 2010).

The Ford Focus C-Max was extremely popular and also found eager sales in the Netherlands. In total, more than 18,500 models were sold,
putting the Focus C-Max up against the likes of the Ford Fusion, Ford Orion and the Ford Galaxy. In fairness, we should add that the 'real' success was much greater, as the sales figures of the Ford C-Max may safely be secretly added to the numbers. Were we to do so, the Focus C-Max could even rival the very popular Ford Scorpio.

The advertisements made for the Ford Focus C-Max were striking. Usually, Ford's marketing machine is always sharp, but with the commercial below, you may wonder what exactly the clever minds wanted to get across and why this campaign aired.

When should the windscreen of the Ford C-Max be replaced?

It could happen that while driving you suddenly hear a firm tap and then notice that there is a chip or crack in your windscreen because a pebble under the tyre of your car in front has hit your window as a projectile. While this is by no means pleasant, a chippd windscreen is not always a reason to panic. In fact, most Dutch people just drive on with a small star or crack in their windscreen, because it is fine.

Windscreen damage only becomes a real problem when the chip or crack causes your view of the road to be obstructed. This is why the car can be rejected for windscreen damage during the MOT. This is the case when the damage is in the driver's field of vision and there is at least a chip with a diameter of 20 millimetres or a branched crack. In these cases, the windscreen of your Ford Focus C-Max needs to be replaced.

What does a new windscreen for your Ford Focus C-Max cost?

You already have a new windscreen for your Ford Focus C-Max from €349. This windscreen is suitable for all first-generation models (2003 to 2010), including the first-generation facelift that was no longer marketed as a 'Focus' model.

Our automotive glass is significantly cheaper than the windscreens offered by your Ford dealer, and there's a reason for that. Your dealer only offers windscreens with a brand logo and this logo gives the windscreens an exclusive character (and thus a higher price), without doing anything for the windscreen. The value for money of our replacement windscreens is so good that our new windscreens are often even cheaper than second-hand ones for your Ford Focus C-Max.

Replace your windscreen yourself or outsource the job

In the Netherlands, we like to tackle jobs ourselves in order to save (substantially) on the price. Replacing a windscreen yourself is a great option if you are technically inclined and if it involves a side window. Replacing a windscreen is a different story. This is because if it is not done in the right way or if an accident happens during the window replacement, the costs run much higher.

To make things as easy as possible for you, we cooperate with certified fitting partners who replace windscreens on location in the Netherlands and Belgium. During the ordering process of the new windscreen for your Ford Focus C-Max, you can directly indicate when the windscreen needs to be replaced by one of our specialists.

Would you like to replace the windscreen yourself because you can, or do you know someone who can replace the windscreen of your Ford Focus C-Max for you? Then you can also simply choose to order the new windscreen without fitting it. You can even drop by (by appointment) to pick up your order yourself to save even more on costs.
