The Ford Fusion is a striking attempt by Ford to tap into market segment, making a mini MPV and placing it in the (lower) B-segment. Ford borrowed heavily from its own predecessors, while ensuring that there would be enough appeal for the Fusion models. In the Netherlands, the model became a moderate sales success. Do you own one of the Ford Fusion models and need its windscreen replaced? Then you can find a new windscreen with us for as little as €299. Before we tell you why we can offer car windows so cheaply, let's take a look at Ford's Fusion.
The Ford Fusion is easily one of Ford's most confusing models when looking at its models and timelines. In fact, there are two different models called Ford Fusion. One for the US market (2006-2020) and one for the European market (2002-2012). That's not all, as the fourth generation of the Ford Mondeo (2013) is the second generation of the US Ford Fusion that was adapted for the European market. However, this fourth generation of the American model was not the successor to the European Ford Fusion, as that would become the Ford B-Max.
To avoid confusion, from this point on, we will restrict ourselves to the European Ford Fusion and leave out the overseas variant further.
In 2002, the Ford Fusion entered the market in Europe, a model that would see only one generation. Loosely based on the Ford Fiesta (MK5), the Fusion shares the platform but is both wider, longer and taller. The name 'Fusion' has to do with its design, which has elements of both a hatchback, SUV and MPV.
Although this type is called the European model, this Fusion has been marketed in more than 50 countries, including Asia and Africa. The only reason this model is called European is to distinguish it from the Fusion that Ford released in the American (homegrown) market.
The Fusion entered a lower market segment, but it did come with numerous options, including automatic wipers, Bluetooth with voice control and a host of other features. In terms of equipment levels, there were initially 3 options, but a fourth was added in 2003.
We could show one of Ford's standard advertisements here, touting the Fusion as a big-small model. What is much more interesting here is to show how advertisements have changed in some 20 years in this world. What do you think, could Ford still get away with an advert like the one below?
Car window damage is annoying, especially when it is in the windscreen and the crack or tear is obstructing your view of the road. In far from all cases, this actually means replacing the windscreen of your Ford Fusion. On the contrary, there are only two cases where your car is in need of windscreen replacement. These only involve a damage to the windscreen in the driver's field of vision and involve a chip with a diameter of at least 20 millimetres, or a branched crack. In these cases, the windscreen must be replaced because it is a rejection on the MOT and because this windscreen damage can cause dangerous situations while driving. This has to do with obstructed vision and in the unpredictable way incoming light is reflected.
However, you can already have a new windscreen for your Ford Fusion for €299. This includes VAT (excluding fitting and delivery). You specify during ordering whether you want the new windscreen delivered and fitted. With every adjustment you make, the page changes the price immediately so you always know exactly what you are paying.
