The Ford Ranger comes in all shapes and sizes. Literally, because Ford has introduced different models to the American and European markets, which means that THE Ford Ranger does not exist, especially when you put the different models side by side and see the differences. Do you have a Ford Ranger and need a windscreen replacement? Then you can come to us for new car windows with the best value for money. Before we surprise you with the price of a new windscreen for your Ford Ranger, let's look at this model (or rather these models) first.
The Ford Ranger has been marketed worldwide, only in different models and years. For example, the “original” Ford Ranger is a compact pickup that was marketed in North America in 1983 and also showed up at Canadian dealerships. This model replaced the Ford Courier and was also offered by Mazda (in the exact same market) as the Mazda B-Series between 1994 and 2009. In 2011, the American Ford Ranger was taken off the market because there was no longer a demand for models like it.
In 2011, production of the Ford Ranger also came to an end for South America, where the model had entered the market in 1998. Here, however, the model was replaced by the Ford Ranger T6, the model we also encounter in Europe and the rest of the world.
From this point on, we will only look at the European Ford Ranger to avoid confusion, without ignoring the fact that more than exclusively European or international models of the Ranger were made.
In 1998, an international Ford Ranger hit the market, although it does not immediately get any easier. A collaboration between Ford and Mazda (also known as AutoAllience), the Ford Ranger was the successor to the Ford Courier, but consisted mainly of parts taken from the Mazda B-Series. Ford additionally decided to release the new Ranger under the Courier label in Australia and New Zealand.
In 2002, the model received a facelift, where the front of the car was modified and the interior was improved to match the new standard in the market. At the same time, Ford updated the Ford Explorer and Ford Courier, mainly involving more powerful engines and more tank capacity.
In 2006, the second generation hit the market, with a new design (from Ford Australia) that made the Ranger much more Ford and less Mazda. This generation received a facelift some three years later, but there were no spectacular changes. For that matter, the same can be said of the third generation in 2011, which was more of a logical sequel than a truly new generation of the model.
In turn, the latest Ford Ranger is a continuation of the third generation, but with more features and an even tougher look, standing on the same T6 platform as its little brother, the Volkswagen Amarok. However, the biggest difference from the previous generation is in the modified 3-liter V6 that is much stronger and has more pulling power, something that will certainly allow Ford to keep a strong market share in this segment. Especially with the Ford Ranger Raptor, which has a 3 liter V6 twin-turbo with nearly 300 horsepower under the hood and has an automatic transmission with as many as 10 gears.
Previous models of the Ford Ranger have not been a great success, although this model was obviously never intended to capture the market. The model is too exclusive for that. A side note to this is that the Ranger has long been one of the best-selling pickups in Europe. When we state that the Ranger has not become a success with moderate sales figures, we are selling the model short. In fact, the sales figures have increased significantly in 2023 and 2024, which means that the Ford Ranger is becoming more popular.
Fair is fair, the journey the Ford Ranger has taken is admirable. To bring this out strongly, we have placed two ads for you below. There are 40 years between them, an extraordinary amount has changed, but the name is still the same: Ford Ranger.
And an advertisement in which the underlying idea is that a real work car is not a clean, undamaged car, but at the same time should bring out how incredibly strong this new monster is:
The Ford Ranger is often used in more challenging, extreme places, which means the risk of damage is in a small corner. Fortunately, replacement auto parts for the Ranger are easy to find. When it comes to the windscreen, the extent of the windscreen damage determines whether it needs to be replaced.
If it is windscreen damage in the driver's field of vision that involves a chip with a diameter of at least 20 millimeters or a branched crack, then the windscreen of the Ford Ranger needs to be replaced. In fact, the car will then be rejected at the next MOT.
New windscreens for the average car are expensive unless you look at after market. For example, a new Ford Ranger windscreen costs only €399 with us and that includes VAT. The prices of our replacement windscreens are significantly cheaper than what the Ford dealer will charge you, and that has to do with one detail: the brand logo. This is because the quality of the automotive glass is identical, but because with us you do not pay unnecessary extra for a brand logo that does nothing for the automotive glass, you will always find the best value for money with us.
Replacing the windscreen of the Ford Ranger yourself is not a good idea if you have little or no experience with car window replacement. Especially since it is difficult to reach everything on this relatively tall, wide model. You can always choose to leave the window replacement to our certified fitting partners who replace car windows on location throughout the Netherlands and Belgium.
Do you have a lot of experience with car window replacement or do you know someone who can replace the window for you? Then you can also choose to order the new windscreen without fitting (and even without delivery). We deliver not only to private individuals, but also to business customers such as garages.
Are you looking for a new Ford Ranger windscreen and want optimum convenience in addition to the best quality and lowest price? Then choose our replacement windscreens including windscreen replacement. Can't find what you are looking for or do you have questions about our working method or on-site car window replacement for your Ford Ranger? If so, please contact us so that we can help you further in person.
