The Ford S-Max (S-MAX) is one of the US carmaker's models that immediately gained a lot of fame and became particularly popular. The S-Max has been sold more than 10,000 times in the Netherlands and is still very much in demand on the used market. Do you have a Ford S-Max whose windscreen needs to be replaced due to extensive windscreen damage? Then you can find a new windscreen from as little as €499 with us.
Before we look at the reason behind the low price for our automotive glass, let's look at this model that has won many awards.
In 2006, Ford introduced the S-Max to the European market, an MPV labelled by Ford as an SAV, or sports activity vehicle. The S-Max hit the dealerships at the same time as the Ford Galaxy, a clear commitment by the US carmaker to a broad segment offering for car owners in Europe. The S-Max is the first Ford to feature the Kinetic Design style, which mainly means larger wheel arches and modern, attractive headlights.
The first generation was immediately fitted with a heated windscreen, parking sensors and dual climate control for the standard version. What was additionally notable was the generous engine range, especially after the first generation's facelift.
An episode of Top Gear (season 8, episode 7) compared the S-Max to the Vauxhall Zafira (Opel Zafira outside the UK) and the Mercedes B200, a comparison that the Ford S-Max won gloriously for James May and Richard Hammond.
In 2019, the second generation received a facelift, modernising the design but with no major changes at the same time. Another facelift followed in 2021, with the S-Max and Galaxy getting electric versions. In mid-2023, Ford decided to stop production of the Ford S-Max. None of the models received a direct successor.
Ford's advertising machine paid close attention to the idea behind the model when making the promotional videos, particularly optimising its potential. This is reflected in the advertisements, including the fairly confusing one with little birds that need to be able to spread their wings. The ad below shows off the idea better, although it is striking how long it takes Ford to show the S-Max for the first time here.
For all car models, the windscreen does not need to be replaced immediately in case of windscreen damage. On the contrary, most people continue to drive with a chipped windscreen for a long time. In only two cases of windscreen damage does it have to be replaced because the car no longer passes inspection. These are damage in the driver's field of vision involving a branched crack or a chip with a diameter of at least 20 millimetres.
Continuing to drive with window damage of this magnitude is dangerous, as it impedes your view of the road and can unpredictably reflect incoming light (from oncoming headlights or the sun, for example). This means you can be blinded while driving, significantly increasing the risk of accidents.
There are many jobs and repairs you can do yourself to save on costs. However, this is not the way to replace your windscreen cheaply. If you have little or no knowledge of windscreen replacement, chances are extremely slim that you will be able to do it correctly. If the windscreen is not replaced in the right way, the windscreen or the car could be damaged, or you yourself could be injured during the windscreen replacement.
To make things as easy as possible for you (and to completely unburden you), we work together with certified fitting partners who provide on-site car window replacement throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. It does not matter whether your car is in the car park of the shopping centre, at the office where you work or in your own driveway: our partners will replace the windscreen of your Ford S-Max and you will have nothing to worry about.
Are you an automotive glass specialist, do you have a garage or do you know someone who can replace the windscreen of your Ford S-Max? Then you can also order new Ford S-Max windscreens from us excluding fitting. You can even choose to collect your order from us by appointment.
With us, you will find replacement windscreens for the Ford S-Max starting from €499. That's considerably cheaper than the prices your dealer charges you, and there's a reason for that. This is because the Ford dealer only offers branded windscreens, which feature a logo that makes the automotive glass exclusive. However, apart from ensuring a higher price, the brand logo does nothing for the windscreen itself.
Our windscreens are identical except for the logo, which allows us to offer our windscreens significantly cheaper. This means that our after market car windows are always the best value for money. In fact, our new Ford S-Max windscreens are often cheaper than second-hand car windows (which are also considerably harder to find).
Looking for a new windscreen for your Ford S-Max and want to make sure you choose the best quality at the best price? Then opt for after market automotive glass that you can order directly from our stock. During the ordering process, you can specify when our partners should replace the windscreen of your Ford, so that you can get back on the road safely with your S-Max soon.
