The Renault Laguna has been one of the biggest sales successes of the French car maker in the Netherlands. The Laguna is firmly in the top 5 measured in sales numbers. The success is not only due to the three generations of the model, but also to the price-quality ratio and the comfort that the Laguna offers. Are you the owner of this model and do you need a windscreen replacement for your Renault Laguna? For just € 269 you will already have a new windscreen when you opt for after market automotive glass.
Before we look at cheap car windscreens for the Renault Laguna, let's look back at this special model from Renault. How has the middle class achieved so much success over the years?
When the Renault Laguna was introduced, the manufacturer immediately chose to serve the market broadly. A wide range of petrol and diesel engines were immediately available, including the 1.8 8-valve engine that would be the engine for the basic version of the Laguna. The strongest engine that could be delivered was the V6 (a 3.0 with 170 hp). And that resulted in such scenes:
The first generation was given an extensive facelift in 1998, in which the appearance of the car became considerably more modern. The engine range was also upgraded. In addition, relatively little was done, probably because Renault already had the second generation on the drawing board at that time. It was launched in 2000, but not before the first generation was fitted with many additional options in the same year, in addition to power steering, power windows at the front, central door locking and the many other standard options.
What does a car manufacturer do with a successful first generation that needs to be replaced? Renault decided to tackle it rigorously: the first generation was wiped off the table, the chassis of the Nissan Primera was picked up (that type was not yet on the market at the time) and Renault designed a completely new car. The second generation was fitted with even better engines and even more equipment options to give the car the standard of comfort for which the Laguna was renowned.
In 2005, the second generation was given a facelift. More chrome was used, an optional navigation system was implemented and the car became especially modern to make it attractive again in the innovative market.
The sedan version of the Renault Laguna III has remained a myth. Images of the concept surfaced on the internet as early as 2008, but this version was never launched on the market.
Apart from the teething troubles with the electronic key card of the second generation, the Renault Laguna has above all been a positive experience for car enthusiasts. This can be clearly seen in the sales figures. The Renault Laguna has been sold more than 113,000 times in the Netherlands, putting it in the top 5 for Renault (it has to put up with the Renault Clio, Mégane, Twingo and Scénic). In the peak year 2002, more than 13,500 copies were sold, claiming more than 2.5% of the total market share. Not bad for a French middle class!
By no means every time a windscreen is damaged, the windscreen has to be replaced completely. The windscreen of your Renault Laguna needs to be replaced completely in only two situations. This is window damage in the driver's field of vision. Is there a chip with a diameter of at least 20 millimetres or a branched crack? Then the car window must be replaced.
In all other cases, you may continue to drive the car. It is wise, however, to keep an eye on the window damage. After all, your window can tear further.
You already have a new windscreen for the Laguna for € 269 (model years 1994 to 2000). This is considerably less than your Renault dealer would ask for a new windscreen. The price difference is due to the brand logo. After market automotive glass does not carry a brand logo, partly because a logo does nothing for your windscreen.
This enables us to offer car windows online at very competitive prices; also for your Renault Laguna. Of course you can also choose for delivery and fitting on location.
