Renault was early on the market for electric cars. Already in 2009 the Renault Zoe concept car was shown to the public. The early start had consequences for the model; numerous adjustments would be made over the years to improve the model. Despite (or thanks to) the many changes, the Renault Zoe would become a pioneer and a success, a rare combination.
Do you have a Renault Zoe with windscreen damage? Then there is a chance that the windscreen of the Renault Zoe will have to be replaced. On the after market you will find high quality windscreens at an affordable price. We will be happy to tell you exactly how this works after we have had a look at this special Renault model.
Before the Renault Zoe would actually roll out the factories, Renault showed several concept cars from 2005 onwards. In 2012, the Zoe really saw the light of day, but was only sold in France in the first month. The rest of Europe followed in 2013. The Renault Zoe would soon lead the sales segment of electric cars and would remain in the top lists for a long time.
The first cars were equipped with a 22 kWh lithium battery with a range of around 210 kilometres. In 2016, a new model was announced with a 41 kWh lithium-ion battery with a range of around 400 kilometres (under average conditions). Over the years a variety of models have been put on the market, with different batteries and motors to serve the market as widely as possible as supermini electric cars.
The idea behind the Zoe was clear: to market a very small car (inspired by the Renault Clio) that was electrically powered and could be used mainly in the city. At the same time Renault wanted to be innovative. That's why a new climate control system was introduced, in collaboration with L'Oréal. A funny trick; oils were sprayed into the interior to prevent the interior from drying out.
As an electric city car, the Renault Zoe was primarily designed for easy, comfortable and convenient parking. But Renault didn't settle for that. That's why the car manufacturer developed a sports version of the Zoe in 2017. It had four-wheel drive, two electric motors (one per axle) and a combined power output of 340 kW. Everything about the car was sporty. And when you know that the torque of an electric car is by definition already higher, it is immediately clear that this has indeed become a sporty model.
.
Right. A battery weight of 450 kilos with a total weight of 1400 kilos for the entire Zoe e-Sport with all the attention to sportsmanship with which this has clearly become a racing car and can hardly be called a city car.
The Renault Zoe was sold more than 170,000 times in Europe; strong figures for Renault which entered the electric car market for the first time. The overall success of the Renault Zoe was many times greater. As early as September 2019, the 200,000th model rolled out of the factory, clearly demonstrating how popular Renault's supermini electric car has become.
A chip or crack in the windscreen is annoying. Yet not every windscreen damage is cause for panic. When the windscreen damage is not in the driver's field of vision, this is usually not a reason for rejection at the MOT. If the damage to the windscreen is in the driver's field of vision, then there are two cases in which it is a direct disapproval and you are not allowed to continue driving. These are the following:
In case of minor glass damage, car window repair is often an option. In the above cases this is much more difficult and a complete new windscreen has to be placed in the Renault Zoe. Fortunately this is much cheaper than many people think.
You already have a new windscreen for the Renault Zoe for € 349. This is much cheaper than the prices charged by your Renault dealer. There is a reason for this. The brand windows at Renault are provided with a brand logo. This logo does nothing for the windscreen itself, but does provide a certain degree of exclusivity. And you pay for that.
Our after market windscreens do not carry a brand logo. Furthermore, they are identical to the windscreens of Renault itself. In fact, they are made in the same factories, in exactly the same way. So the only difference is the brand logo, and therefore the price.
