The Toyota Celica has been compared to the Ford Mustang on several occasions and anyone who puts the two models side by side will immediately see the similarities. The Celica has been in production for more than three decades and counts numerous different models, generations and versions. Even on the used market, the Toyota Celica is still popular. Do you have a model in mind with windscreen damage or do you need to replace the windscreen of your own Toyota Celica? Then with us you will always find the right windscreen for your car at a particularly competitive price.
Before we tell you how we can offer new Toyota Celica windscreens from €299, let's take a look back at this spectacular model from Japan.
The Toyota Celica saw the light of day along with the Toyota Carina in 1970. The Celica would remain in production until 2006, when the curtain fell on the sporty, sturdy Celica after seven generations. Numerous different versions would have rolled out of the factories by then, with very different engines and special models.
Between 1977 and 1981, the second generation of the Celica was made, again a sporty model with tough looks despite the fairly wide B-pillar in the design. Notably, the amount of automotive glass in the model increased (26 to 35%, depending on the type). From 1981 to 1985, the third generation arrived at dealerships, with now even major differences between the European and American models. Like the fourth generation, the fifth would also have a short lifespan (1985-1989 and 1989-1993). In 1991, the Celica received one of its biggest updates, with so many modifications that some models could almost be called a new generation.
However, that new generation did not come until 1993 and the sixth generation would remain in production for six years. With this generation, the main focus was on safety and Toyota continued to make different versions for the diverse markets, which made the number of different models within this type almost endless.
From 1999 to 2006, the seventh and thus last generation of the Toyota Celica rolled out of the factories, with the Celica becoming part of the Toyota Project Genesis (the failed attempt to get younger Americans excited about the Japanese marque). The focus of the seventh generation was on reducing weight and cutting costs, in order to offer the car as good and cheap as possible. And fair's fair, Toyota succeeded quite well. Even Richard Hammond, someone who is not always so enthusiastic when it comes to Japanese cars anyway, could hardly restrain himself behind the wheel of the latest generation.
In the very last year of the Celica, the model was only available in Japan and Europe. In all other markets, the model was already out of dealers in its final months.
Has the Toyota Celica become a resounding success worldwide? No, but neither was it expected to be, as this is not a standard car for an average commuter. It was primarily a tough car that closely resembled the Pony Car from Ford and was made to be a sporty and exciting model, partly to attract younger buyers (from outside America).
With us, you can have a new Toyota Celica windscreen from as little as €299. This is the price including VAT and excluding windscreen replacement and/or delivery. Keep in mind that there are many different models and versions of the model and this affects the number of different windscreens for the Celica.
All our windscreens are significantly cheaper than the ones at your Toyota dealer and there is a reason for this. This is because Toyota windscreens come with a brand logo and that logo makes the window exclusive, which means you have to pay more money for it. The quality of our windscreens is the same as original windscreens, but the price is much lower because you don't have to pay extra for a brand logo. That means you get the most automotive glass for your money with us.
The windscreen of your Toyota Celica should only be replaced when there is windscreen damage in the driver's field of vision and this involves at least a chip with a diameter of 2 centimetres or a branched crack. This is because in these cases, your car will no longer pass the MOT. In all other cases, you can choose to continue driving with the damaged windscreen. However, it is wise to keep an eye on the damage. This is because if the temperature differences on either side of the window increase, the window may crack further.
We strongly advise against going ahead with windscreen replacement yourself if you are not sure you can replace the windscreen yourself. If the windscreen is not dismantled and fitted correctly, it could cause (extensive) damage to your Celica and could cause problems when you take it out on the streets.
To make things easier for you, we work with certified fitting partners who can replace your car window on-site (both windscreens and side and rear windows). This can be done simply in your driveway, your work car park or at a local shopping centre.
Are you an automotive glass expert or do you know someone who can replace the windscreen of your Toyota Celica? Then you can also come to us for automotive glass exclusive fitting. You can even choose to collect the new Toyota Celica windscreen from us (available by appointment only).
Is the windscreen of your Toyota Celica in need of replacement and do you want to make sure you choose a quality windscreen without having to pay a lot for it straight away? Then choose our after market windscreens. Of course, at the same time you can count on optimum ordering convenience and our specialists are ready to help you with tailor-made advice and answers to all your questions about automotive glass.
