There are few models that can match the success of the Toyota Corolla. This model has been the top-selling car model nationally and globally several times, and there are still an exceptionally high number of models registered. Do you have a Toyota Corolla whose windscreen needs to be replaced? Then you have come to the right page, as we have cheap new Toyota Corolla windscreens at competitive prices.
Before we look at the competitive prices of our car windows, let's give the Toyota Corolla the space it deserves. How has this relatively simple model managed to conquer the world?
It didn't take long for the success of the Toyota Corolla to become apparent. The model first hit the market in 1966 and just eight years later it was the best-selling car model worldwide. In 2021, it once again revealed just how big a success this model actually was, as it sold number 50 million, a sales figure that numerous other major car brands can only dream of.
One of the reasons behind the success is the trick Toyota copied with several models. In fact, the Corolla was made and assembled in numerous places, including Canada, China, India, Malaysia, New Zealand, Turkey, Taiwan, the UK and numerous other places. This ensured that Toyota could always stay ahead of the interest and never had empty spaces at dealerships. It also ensured that models could be offered cheaper and faster. After all, there was no import duty and the models did not have to go on ships to be taken to faraway countries.
The introduction in 1966 was not even that spectacular by the way. On the contrary, it was a new model from Japan with an 1100cc engine and the Toyota Corolla Sprinter would be placed right next to it, but it didn't raise much dust yet. In 1970 came the second generation with rounder shapes and considerably more engines on offer, before arriving at the third generation in 1974.
These Corolla models were rounder, larger (better fitting the international market) and above all heavier, with considerably more versions which ensured resounding success worldwide.
In 1979, Toyota introduced the fourth generation of the model and went back to the harder, angular shapes, which was carried over to the fifth generation in 1983. Crazy much didn't change, by the way. There were new trims, more engines on offer, but otherwise it remained mainly a model with excellent value for money (with the emphasis on price). Not until the fifth generation would the Corolla get mainly front-wheel drive.
In 1987, Toyota brought more attention to aerodynamics with the sixth generation, and the finish of this generation's models was considerably more stylish than its predecessors. This line continued into the eighth generation in 1995 and the ninth generation in 2000.
The seventh generation marked the end of the carburettor in the Toyota Corolla and models would become rounder, heavier and also larger. The coupé version (the Corolla Levin) was still only available in a few markets.
The eighth generation entered the market everywhere in 1995, except the United States. There, the model did not enter the market until 1997 (model year 1998) and was given a completely unique front and rear end. This was perfectly in line with the ideas of Toyota, which had decided to put different versions of the same models on different markets to better respond to demand.
From 1998, some models of the Corolla received the 1ZZ-FE engine for the first time, a block that is considerably lighter than the usual engine outside Japan. In fact, with this engine, the block is aluminium, as are the cylinder heads.
The ninth generation was to modernise the Toyota Corolla, with more attention to design and numerous technological additions. Introduced in Japan in 2000, this model would also come to the European market. The United States was also two years behind with this model: the ninth generation did not arrive here until 2002. The version that came to America was very similar to the Corolla Altis version offered in south-east Asia.
The ninth generation would be replaced in 2007, except in China. There, this model (named Toyota Corolla EX) remained in production until early 2017.
In 2006, the E140 Corolla entered the Japanese market, along with the larger Corolla Axio and the estate version Corolla Fielder. Toyota decided to diversify the model even further and kept the Corolla Altis line in southeast Asia, India and Taiwan. To make it even more confusing, Toyota chose to sell the Toyota Auris in Oceania as a Toyota Corolla hatchback, alongside the sedan version of the international E140 Corolla.
In 2012, the 11th generation came to Japan, but that would not become the international model. That did not come until 2013 and became the Toyota Corolla E170/E180. The big difference with the Japanese models is that the international models are (as usual) bigger and heavier.
The twelfth generation of the Corolla was launched in three versions in 2018, as the hatchback, estate and sedan. All three versions were shown to the public at different times, with the hatchback even said to be a pre-production model of the Auris.
In addition, the Toyota Corolla Touring Sports (the estate version) was also launched in Europe as Suzuki Swace.
The list of different versions of the Toyota Corolla is endless and this is partly due to something we briefly mentioned earlier. The Corolla was made and assembled in many different countries. This has allowed for a high degree of flexibility, where different departments have been able to make adjustments to make the models better suited to the market. However, one of the models we should mention here is the Toyota Corolla Verso, an MPV that has managed to achieve reasonable success. Incidentally, the second generation of the Verso was built on its own platform rather than that of the Corolla itself.
The Toyota Corolla Verso has become extremely popular in the Netherlands and has been sold more than 30,000 times at the time of writing. Of course, you can also find Toyota Corolla Verso windscreens with us, as well as automotive glass for the Toyota Corolla Cross.
There are two models worth a separate mention. These are the powerful Toyota GR Corolla and the hybrid that had to ensure that the Corolla also had to match today's demands. The Toyota GR Corolla is a monster with 300 hp, a G16E 1.6-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine and all-wheel drive. But instead of words and specifications, a 30-second video is enough to show what a beast this actually is.
The Toyota Corolla Hybrid seems diametrically opposed to this. A car developed to be economical and environmentally friendly. Fortunately, Toyota already had an answer to that. The Japanese brand proved with the Toyota Corolla Touring Sport Hybrid that it really doesn't have to be boring ánd that a hybrid can have more than enough space for an entire family. Several hybrid versions of the Corolla are now available.
With a model that has been in production for more than 50 years, a lot of nice things can be found. Toyota commercials from 1986, for example, in which the Corolla seems to be getting quite spectacular:
Or how about the much newer promotion the world has been enjoying. A somewhat cheeky, funny advert in which the Toyota GR Corolla especially shines, but in which the first models of this type also get to join in.
A small splashing stone can be enough to damage the windscreen of your Toyota Corolla. Although windscreen damage is extremely annoying, in far from all cases the windscreen needs to be replaced. On the contrary, in most cases you can just keep on driving with a damaged windscreen. There are two cases that do require a new windscreen. These are a chi[p with a diameter of at least 2 centimetres or a branched crack, but only when the damage is in the driver's field of vision.
Do you decide to continue driving with a damaged Toyota Corolla windscreen? If so, do keep an eye on the extent of the damage. This is because if the difference in temperature between the two sides of the windscreen increases, the window may crack further. This risk is increased if, for example, on a cold winter day you put the heater full on the windscreen to defrost it.
You already have a new windscreen for your Toyota Corolla from €299. This is the price including VAT and without costs for windscreen replacement and/or delivery. When you indicate your preferences on the order page, the website will adjust the price immediately so you know exactly what the total price will be.
Our car window prices are significantly lower than the price charged by your dealer. Ironically, however, the car windows are identical in terms of quality and in almost all cases are made in the same factories. The ‘big’ difference is in a small brand logo that gives the Toyota windscreens an exclusive character, making the price much higher. Our replacement car windows have no brand logo, which means you never have to pay too much. Did you know that the difference in price between an original and after market windscreen is so great that our automotive glass is often still cheaper than second-hand windscreens for your Toyota Corolla? This does make it very easy to make a choice.
Replacing a side window yourself is often still possible if you are technically inclined and can make the time to do it carefully. This does not apply to replacing a windscreen. This job is much more extensive with greater risks to safety and damage to the car or the automotive glass. Therefore, we strongly discourage you from doing the windscreen job yourself unless you know what you are doing. Don't worry, because we work with certified fitting partners who can replace the windscreen of your Toyota Corolla at a competitive rate. This is always done on-site, so you don't have to drive to a garage yourself. This applies to all customers in the Netherlands and Belgium.
Do you have a garage, are you an automotive glass specialist or do you know someone who can replace the windscreen for you? Then you can also contact us for automotive glass excluding fitting. It is also possible to collect your order from us. This is only possible by appointment, as we can then prepare your order before you arrive.
Is the windscreen of your Toyota Corolla in need of replacement and do you want to make sure you choose a high-quality new windscreen, but at the same time do not want to pay too much?
