Cheap windscreen replacement for your Toyota Paseo

The Toyota Paseo is one of the models from this car manufacturer that is very similar to a lot of other models. At the same time, this model has become a reasonable success, mainly because of the tactic of marketing the cars cheaply. Nearly 1,000 copies of this model have been sold in the Netherlands. If you have one and need the windscreen replaced, you have come to the right place. This is because we have automotive glass with the best value for money. Before we surprise you with the low price of our new Toyota Paseo windscreens, let's take a quick look at the history of this model.

The Paseo, a model that was in production from 1991 to 1999

The first Toyota Paseo entered the market in 1991 and was based on the Toyota Tercel (the L40 series). The 1.5-litre engine produced 100 hp with 123 Nm, but for California this had to be reduced to 93 hp to meet stricter emissions requirements. The first generation would remain in production until 1995, after which the model got a second generation.

The second generation brought fairly little that was new. The metalwork had been slightly modified, the electronics in the engine block were upgraded and a convertible version of the Paseo would be launched in 1996. Incidentally, that was also the year the Paseo was withdrawn from the US market, as the Toyota Paseo was not a success there.

In the UK, an important market for Toyota, the second generation was offered from 1996 to 1998, after which the model also disappeared from dealerships here. The second generation for the market across the Channel, by the way, was not a weak copy of its predecessor. The new model was fitted with a Sony CD player, 14 or 15-inch rims, ABS, a third brake light, considerably more colours and a top speed of 180 kilometres per hour.

In 1999, the Toyota Paseo disappeared from the market completely and was succeeded by the Toyota Yaris and the Toyota Echo.

The success of the Toyota Paseo

The Toyota Paseo never became a resounding success and this is evident from the fact that the model was prematurely withdrawn from dealerships in two of the three main markets for this automaker. Chances are that the model could never become successful because of its similarities to the Toyota Tercel and the Toyota Starlet, along with the design that already looked relatively old-fashioned when introduced. Still, Toyota tried to make the model appear youthful and exciting, as you can see in the advertisement below, but it was not very successful. About 800 copies
of this model were sold in the Netherlands.

When should the windscreen of the Toyota Paseo be replaced?

When you use your car on a daily basis, damage to it is pretty much inevitable. An accident is in a small corner and a moment of inattention can already mean a dent or scratch. Windscreen damage requires even less, because if a pebble jumps out from under the tyre of your car in front, it can cause an instant crack or chip in your windscreen. But when does the windscreen actually need to be replaced and in which cases can you just keep on driving?

Windscreen replacement is necessary when the glass damage is in the driver's field of vision and there is a branched crack or a chip with a diameter of at least 20 millimetres. Indeed, in these cases, the car will not pass the next MOT, mainly because this damage to the windscreen is too distracting and can lead to glare when incoming light is reflected unpredictably.

What does a new windscreen for the Toyota Paseo cost?

You already have a new Toyota Paseo windscreen for €499. This does not include the windscreen moulding, but does include VAT. On the order page, you can specify whether you want to use our fitting partners for the windscreen replacement and when it should be done. The website adjusts the price immediately, so you always know what you are paying before you complete the order.

Our new windscreens for your Toyota are significantly cheaper than those at your dealership. This is remarkable because the quality of the car windows is identical and the windows are almost always made in the same factories. The price difference is in a brand logo incorporated in the original car windows for your Toyota. That logo does nothing for the window itself, but it does make it exclusive, which concretely only equates to a significantly higher price.

Since our Toyota Paseo windscreens do not carry a brand logo, you can always come to us for automotive glass with the best value for money.
