Cheap windscreen replacement for your Volkswagen Arteon

The Volkswagen Arteon is a model with which the German car brand shows what else it can do in its line of premium models. It has become one of the models where there is little difference between the concept car and the actual model, which is remarkable for Volkswagen. Do you have a Volkswagen Arteon and need a windscreen replacement? Then you can find affordable, quality replacement windscreens for your Volkswagen with us.

Before we delve further into our cheap automotive glass, let's take a closer look at the Arteon to see what makes this model so special.

The Volkswagen Arteon, a more luxurious and larger variant of the Passat

The Volkswagen Arteon is the successor to the Volkswagen CC (or Volkswagen Passat CC), but the Germans stated right away that the Arteon would be considerably more luxurious and thus marketed higher than the CC itself. To have the room for all the luxury as well as to be able to make a larger model, they opted for the MQB platform.

Interestingly, the Arteon arrived at dealerships in Europe as early as 2017, and only two years later in America, even though the model was also designed with the overseas market in mind. The reason behind it have been problems with emissions testing, something not entirely new to Volkswagen.

Facelift for the Volkswagen Arteon in 2020

In 2020, the Arteon got a facelift, with the shooting brake style coming to the Arteon, as well as a plug-in hybrid and even the Volkswagen Arteon R, which we will discuss in more detail below. The facelift changed the model considerably, as besides a different style, it also opted for a larger infotainment system. With this, Volkswagen tried to bring the Arteon back into the limelight as sales numbers continued to disappoint.

The beast dubbed the Volkswagen Arteon R

Volkswagen even decided to make an R version of the Arteon, a sportier model with a stunningly powerful engine. For the Arteon R, Volkswagen chose the 2.0-litre turbo with 316 hp and 420 Nm, making it a downright beast. The Volkswagen Arteon R Shooting Brake version never made it to Dutch dealers, but luckily we have the internet to see exactly what this car is capable of:

How big is the Volkswagen Arteon's success?

At the time of writing, some 2,500 units
of the Volkswagen Arteon have been sold in the Netherlands, which might make you think the model has flopped. However, this is not entirely justified. Not only because this is a fairly recent model, but also because it is a premium model, which is both more luxurious, larger and more expensive than the Volkswagen Passat.

Now, however, it is true that the Arteon's success was disappointing for Volkswagen itself. The disappointment was apparently so great that Volkswagen decided to end production as early as 2024, whereas the idea was to keep the Arteon rolling out of the factories until 2026.

To give you an idea of how Volkswagen can provide an exciting, impressive car with an advertisement that baffles with German thoroughness, we have posted the original German advertisement for the model below.

When should the windscreen of the Volkswagen Arteon be replaced?

A pebble against the windscreen on the highway can be enough for a big chip or crack in the windscreen of your Volkswagen Arteon. By no means all windscreen damage is cause for panic, however. On the contrary, because in most cases you can simply carry on driving with a chip or crack in the windscreen. Only when the window damage is in the driver's field of vision and there is a branched crack or a chip with a diameter of at least 20 millimetres, the windscreen will have to be replaced. This is because the car will then be rejected for the windscreen damage at the next MOT.

Is the damage less extensive, but within the driver's field of vision? Then you should check the extent to which the damage is distracting or dangerous. Windscreen damage causes light to be reflected in an unpredictable way.

What does a new windscreen for the Volkswagen Arteon cost?

You already have a replacement windscreen for your Volkswagen Arteon for €449 (including VAT). That's considerably cheaper than Volkswagen dealer windscreens, and there's a reason for that. The windscreens at your Volkswagen dealer feature a brand logo. This logo gives the windscreen an exclusive character (and that's what you pay for), while the logo doesn't actually do anything for the windscreen.

Our windscreens are identical to those at your dealer, except for the logo. That means we can always offer you a windscreen with the best value for money. In addition, we always make it as easy as possible for you, for example with on-site fitting of the new windscreen.
