The arrival of the Volkswagen ID.4 was no surprise to anyone. In fact, this model is the logical sequel to the Volkswagen ID.3, which pioneered the German car brand and paved the way for the all-electric crossover, which would immediately attract a lot of attention and become a huge success by combining the two most sought-after elements of the moment: electric and crossover. Do you have a Volkswagen ID.4 and need a windscreen replacement? Then you will find windscreens with the best value for money with us, as well as the option to have the windscreen replaced on-site by an expert within a short time.
Before we look at our automotive glass, we first make room for the ID.4, the model that was shown to the public as a concept car (Volkswagen I.D. Cross) back in 2017. The Volkswagen ID.4 was also there at the 2019 German Motor Show, but hidden away because Volkswagen wanted the Volkswagen ID.3 to be fully in the limelight.
Whereas the ID.3 was developed with the European market in mind, the ID.4 immediately took on an intercontinental character as it headed straight to North America at launch to gain market share there. It succeeded relatively easily, as this model is compared to the Volkswagen Tiguan, but with more space for its occupants. This is little exaggeration, as the boot holds almost 850 litres, and more than 1800 litres when the rear seats are folded down.
Two years after the introduction of the first model, the ID.4 was available with three different battery packages: 55, 62 and 82 kWh. The models' range was 363 kilometres for the first two packages and 546 kilometres for the 82 kWh battery pack, unless four-wheel drive was chosen, in which case some 50 kilometres of range would be lost.
Volkswagen has also launched a Volkswagen ID.4 GTX, the GTI version for electric models. This GTX has an output of 299 hp and has all-wheel drive with a range of just under 500 kilometres. Of course, all models of Volkswagen's ID.4 are suitable for DC charging, or fast charging.
In 2024, the ID.4 received an update with a larger infotainment screen (which is very practical in the modern electric car) and a new electric motor (APP 550) that delivers more power while being more economical.
Volkswagen has (of course) produced numerous advertisements to promote the ID.4. While taste is extremely subjective, the video below is one of the most enjoyable, with Volkswagen not afraid to capitalise mainly on humour and pay less attention to the car (in this case, the Volkswagen ID.4 GTX) itself.
Despite all the features and technologies in the ID.4, the car windows are still made of glass, which means they can be damaged. But in which cases should the windscreen actually be replaced? Often, you can just keep on driving with a chipped windscreen, especially if the chip or crack does not obstruct your view and is not in your direct field of vision while driving.
However, is the window damage in the driver's field of vision and does it involve a chip with a diameter of at least 20 millimetres or a branched crack? Then you need to look for a new windscreen, as your ID.4 will be rejected at the next car inspection. Windscreen damage at this location with this size distracts too much while driving and can cause you to be blinded while driving. This is because incoming light is reflected unpredictably by the broken automotive glass.
You already have a new windscreen for your Volkswagen ID.4 for €449. This is the basic version including VAT, but without the cost of fitting and/or delivery. If you are looking for a coated ID.4 windscreen including HUD, you will find it with us for as little as € 999. That's considerably cheaper than the price your Volkswagen dealer will present you with, and there's a reason for that. This is because the dealer only installs automotive glass with a brand logo. That logo makes the window exclusive (read: expensive), without the logo doing anything for the automotive glass.
Our replacement car windows have no exclusive brand logo and that means we can offer our automotive glass cheaply, without compromising on quality.
To make things easier for you, we cooperate with certified fitting partners. They replace car windows on location throughout the Netherlands and Belgium and can also replace the windscreen of your Volkswagen ID.4 without any problems. During the ordering process, you can indicate your preferences around the windscreen replacement on the page, and the price on the page will immediately be adjusted to the correct price for your selection.
Do you have a lot of experience in replacing car windows or do you know someone who would like to replace the windscreen of your Volkswagen for you? Then you can also choose from us for a new windscreen excluding fitting. You can even collect your automotive glass (by appointment). We supply our car windows to both private individuals and companies. Many garage owners have gone before you in order to provide their customers with the best value for money.
