Cheap windscreen replacement for your Volvo FE

When Volvo presented the Volvo FE with D7E engine, it was immediately clear that the Swedes would be targeting a very broad market with this model, with different sizes, power ratings and wheel axles in order to develop a truck for all urban traffic. With the FE, Volvo again showed that it is a formidable name in the truck market and also sold the FE models all over the world.

Do you own one of these models and need a windscreen replacement for your Volvo FE? Then you will find truck windscreens with the best value for money with us. Before we look at this in more detail, let's take a brief look at this particularly versatile model from Volvo that is already a sales success, while the FE is still in production at the time of writing.

The Volvo FE: a truck for use in cities

The Volvo FE, one of many COE (flat front) models from Sweden, is designed to perform optimally as a truck in modern cities. You can think of fire engines, rubbish trucks and trucks that need to be able to be used for logistics in urban centres. The FE first entered the market in 2006 and received the same engines and gearboxes as the Volvo FL. Incidentally, the Volvo FE is also great for longer-distance transport, as there are models with sleeper cabs and daytime cabs.

Versatile and therefore broadly deployable

The versatility of the Volvo FE is especially praised. Thus, you can find this truck with engines that meet Euro III and/or Euro IV requirements, the trucks have a manual or automatic gearbox, plenty of different sizes and varying wheel axles so that the truck can always be adapted to what the user needs. Volvo has even added to this by making an all-electric version called the Volvo FE Electric. This model can tow 27 tonnes, has an output of 225 kW and a range of a whopping 275 kilometres.

This is particularly relevant in today's market, as this model can be used in environmental zones and has much lower road costs than other models equipped with an internal combustion engine. By combining the class and solidity of the Volvo FE with a zero-emission electric truck engine, Volvo has hit the nail on the head.

Models from 2013: i-Shift and ESP added to the range

In 2013, Volvo released a new generation of the Volvo FE. While the modifications may not seem major, the i-Shift and ESP are important components for many drivers in city traffic. The i-Shift transmission brought 12 forward gears and four rear gears to the FE. ESP, or Electronic Stability Program, makes it easier for the driver to keep the truck on the road (in slippery conditions, for example).

When should the Volvo FE windscreen be replaced?

Car window damage can be very annoying, especially when the damage is in the truck windscreen. However, this by no means always means that the windscreen needs to be replaced. Only in two cases does windscreen damage cause the truck to no longer meet legal requirements. These are a chip with a diameter of at least 20 millimetres or a branched crack, but only when it is in the driver's field of vision.

In all other cases, you can just keep on driving and the chipped windscreen will not be a reason for rejection at the inspection. However, it is wise to take a critical look at whether the glass damage is annoying, especially if you often drive in towns and cities with your Volvo FE.

What does a new windscreen for your Volvo FE cost?

The price of car windows can be surprisingly high. For trucks, you often count even more for an average windscreen. With us, however, this is not the case. You already have a new Volvo FE windscreen for just €369. This includes VAT, but does not include fitting and/or delivery. You can always see your total price directly when you specify exactly what you want in the drop-down menu.

The Volvo FE windscreen is also suitable for the Renault C (from 2014), Renault D (from 2014) and the Renault Premium (from 2007).

Our after market automotive glass is significantly cheaper than the ones your brand dealer has. In fact, our new Volvo FE windscreens are often even cheaper than the original car windows offered second-hand. This is solely due to the brand logo that is in the Volvo windscreens. This is because the quality of the truck windows is identical: they are often even made in the same factories. So if you want to make sure you choose the best truck glass at the lowest price, you will always end up with us.

Can you replace the Volvo FE windscreen yourself?

Replacing a windscreen is a precise job. When the windscreen of a truck needs to be replaced, the job is even more extensive. If you have little or no windscreen replacement experience, we strongly discourage you from getting started yourself. This is because the risk of damage (to yourself or the truck) and problems with incorrect fitting do not make it attractive.

To relieve you of all worries, we work with certified fitting partners throughout the Netherlands and Belgium who will always replace the windscreen for you on location, allowing you to specify when and where the windscreen of your Volvo FE needs to be replaced. The specialists will ensure that the windscreen is replaced correctly, without you having to worry about it, even when it comes to truck windscreens.
